COMMUNITEENS PRESIDENT and AMERICAN HERITAGE CHAPTER PRESIDENT
peacelovesmileorg@gmail.com

My name is Jamie Cohen. I am a senior at American Heritage High School. I started Peace Love Smile during my freshman year of high school in order to make my hobbies into community service projects (www.peacelovesmile.org).  I am added Communiteens to this non-profit to be able to positively impact even more people. My hobbies are cooking, photography, website design, and community service. At school, I engage in many clubs, including Make a Wish, National Honor Society, Photography Club, and National Art Honor Society along with keeping an A average in Honors and AP courses.  For the past few summers, I have expanded my interests at Explo at Yale. With my experiences, I hope to continue to expand Communiteens into a larger nonprofit organization around the country.

Jared Cohen

I am studying Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and have passed responsibility to my sister Jamie Cohen.

FOUNDER OF COMMUNITEENS
My name is Jared Cohen. I am 18 years old and go to American Heritage High School. Community Service is extremely important to me.  At school, I engage in many clubs, including Make a Wish, National Honor Society, Tikkun Olam, Robotics, and Pre-Engineering Society. These clubs all offer many service opportunities. I have also gone to the Daniel Cantor Senior Center to help the caretakers with their jobs. I played the piano for the seniors and taught them to use iPads. My hobbies are piano, photography, and Miami Hurricanes football. School plays an important part of my life as well. I received two Pinnacle awards in elementary and middle school.  I work hard to retain my A average in several Honors and AP classes. For the past few summers, I have made many friends at Camp Shalom and at Explo@Yale. With my connections from two schools and two camps, Communiteens is sure to help people around the country. I am very excited to help hundreds, if not, thousands of people from around the United States.

COMMUNITEENS CHAPTERS:

Tyler Crookes- Charleston, South Carolina Chapter President
Hi! My name is Tyler Crookes. I am currently a senior student at Oceanside Collegiate Academy in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Over the past year the South Carolina chapter has been involved with many “need“ based drives at the homeless shelter in downtown Charleston, a food drive to provide weekend meals for children, as well as volunteering at sporting events for kids.  This year we are currently involved in a large shoe drive to benefit people in third-world countries and pursuing some volunteer opportunities at the Ronald McDonald house. My hobbies include: playing lacrosse, running cross country, hanging out with friends, snowboarding, and helping out younger kids and those in need. I look forward to continuing to build a Communiteens chapter in South Carolina so that we can make a difference in our community. Join me, I promise you will have fun in the process.

As someone who hasn’t had a lot of experience in volunteer work yet, I’m excited to change that by getting involved and helping my community.

With Alexa, I want to work as hard as possible in creating something meaningful that I can be proud to say I've had a part in. I have done little community service as a teachers aid for an elementary school camp, but I plan to do a lot more!
